Fire Code Consulting Services

Building and fire codes are complex, overlapping, and enforced differently in every jurisdiction. DGA Consulting helps architects, owners, developers, and contractors understand exactly what the code requires and the most practical way to comply.

Fire code consulting process: from code question to AHJ sign-off through three paths

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What codes do you work with?

The firm works across NFPA standards (including NFPA 13, 72, 20, 14, and 101), the International Building Code, and state and municipal amendments in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Can you help if we’ve already received plan review comments?

Yes. Responding to AHJ comments is one of the firm’s most common engagements. The client sends the comment letter and the drawings, and the firm prepares technical responses with code backing.

What is an equivalency report?

When the prescriptive code does not fit a project, most codes allow alternative approaches that provide equivalent safety. An equivalency report is the engineering analysis that demonstrates it, and it is what the AHJ needs to approve the approach.

Which states are you licensed in?

The firm’s engineers are licensed fire protection engineers in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
